About

 Hi I’m Adrienne

I am a southern girl at heart living in the north. I live in Northwestern Ontario, Canada with my handsome hubby, Jesse,  and our beautiful, little miss Lucy (6months).  Both originally from much tinier towns, Jesse and I met at our current church in 2011. He was starting a Pastoral Apprenticeship and I had just joined the worship team. We eventually started hanging out with the same group of people and started dating about 7 months later (although if you asked any one of our friends they would say that, unbeknownst to us, we had actually started dating 3 months earlier.) We dated for a year and a half, got engaged, married 8 months later, had our beautiful baby girl 2.5 years after that and here we are today. {With countless stories in between}

Community and sharing/walking through life with people are huge passions of mine (and Jesse’s). I love to gather with friends to share a delicious meal, a glass of wine or beer and some deep-hearted conversation. I am not a fan of small chit chat — you can usually find me trying to avoid the “stand & greet” every Sunday during the morning church service.

I believe that breakfast is best eaten at dinner (especially pancakes) and a long hot shower is The cure for just about anything. For me and my tribe, Christmas begins at the end of October and, in my opinion, the last 4 months of the year are truly the best of the 12.

My favourite things include: a tasty latte & sweet treats; a cozy coffee shop; a good podcast (I am obsessed); beautiful, large floral arrangements; laundry hung out on the line; CrossFit (I’m a newb, but really starting to enjoy it); veggie gardens; a nice long walk through the NWO bush (aka forest for those who don’t follow our northern lingo); house plants (if I could just learn to keep them alive); a juicy medium-rare steak; emojis; and date night.

I believe that it is important to work at your craft and to continue to challenge yourself, and so that is what I am doing. I love to share my thoughts — even if just out loud or on paper for myself.  {or online for all the world to see 😉 }

I love a good “self-help” type book.  Books that help me learn and grow as an individual, and within my faith.  Even more, though, I love a “journey” book.  A book where the author doesn’t claim to know it all or to have a quick (or long) fix for life’s struggles and experiences.  A place where the author takes you along on their journey of discovery and in the end you ultimately learn from their stories.  There is nothing more beautiful than a person striving to better themselves, their families, their spirituality and more.

In this space, you will find my real-time journey and honest thoughts on marriage, motherhood, faith, friendship, and food.  I really hope that this space gives you the opportunity to take a journey for yourself — or least of all gives you a few laughs and recipes to try.

Thanks for stopping by!
